Sally and Her Teacakes takes its name from Sally Lunn, an 18th-century pastry cook in Bath, England who, legend has it, made and sold her popular sweet buns in the streets for many years. The name also pays tribute to my English heritage – I was born about 15 miles down the road from where Sally sold her sweets.
These days, I am a pr consultant, a freelance writer and home cook who enjoys trying new ingredients and putting my own spin on traditional recipes. I’m fortunate to live in the Willamette Valley where there is an abundance of delicious produce, wine and other edibles to inspire my creations. Sally and Her Teacakes mixes a bit of food with a dash of fun. Enjoy.
So you’re Sally! I visited your site sometime back and noticed that you had included a link to us. Thank you. Will reciprocate immediately. Good luck and have much fun. Charles
Yes, it’s me hiding behind Sally’s apron. Thanks Charles!
